Well, it's been a while, but not without stuff going on.
First I'd like to thank two more donors, my uncle Michael Bego and a friend/acquaintance, Peter Ramsing.
Since school's started, I've been craaaazy busy. I've found out who all of the people I'll be riding with are - mostly through lots and lots of group emails. I've also met with a BnB alum, Caroline Godfrey, Dartmouth class of 2012, who was really helpful. She showed pictures of her trip (the same route as me!), explained what gear I'll actually be bringing, gave some descriptions of a-day-in-the-life (hint, it's a lot of biking), and answered tons of questions. Thanks!
I ordered my first bit of gear - one cycling jersey and one pair of cycling shorts, although if you look at the Hanover weather, I guess they're pretty extraneous right now.
Oh! I found out that one of the people on my trip actually goes to Dartmouth. Actually, she's a freshman too. In fact, she lives in my building. Would you believe it, her room's directly across the hall and her bed is probably not in excess of 30 feet from mine! Noam Rosenthal, Dartmouth class of 2013, is a big help in fundraising ideas and motivation, not to mention someone who doesn't think I'm crazy.
This past weekend was the Princeton-Dartmouth hockey game, a traditionally raucous occasion in which the fans jettison tennis balls at the goalie of the opposing team during the game! Although these practices may be dubious, Noam and I appropriated them for an appropriate cause and raised about $600 by selling tennis balls and Dartmouth Hockey-themed tshirts before the game. Thanks so much to all of the fans!
