Wooooo lazinesssssssss

Ugh the last eight miles were just not funnnn at all. Franklin, PA to Youngstown, Ohio. Only 50-something miles but it was muggy and hot out even when we woke up this morning. And my legs are really starting to feel the rides - they aren't tight or even that sore, just a sort of loose tiredness, and if you try to stretch out your legs and flex and loosen your quads, they don't feel anything and then suddenly are painful and totally slack. Also stairs. Yea. Just stairs. But yea, so yesterday's ride into Youngstown was just not that great. But Jake and I did get some good rapping in, and Sarah and I swapped some quAlity lyrics. Fun. Also omigoossshhness canyoubelieveit we're in our fifth state already! Ohio! Paaaaarrttttyyy! But yea here's a sample rap that gives a picture of bnb road life:

Almost into a new state
Don't care if it's a red or blue state
Where's the trailer
I messed up my dérailleur
And i need to fix my Gu state

Jakes gotta work on his hydration
Too much soda darn that carbonation
Hot darn we're biking cross the nation
Wanna get to Ohio; I'm impatiennnnnt

Etc. Makes the miles go by. Youngstown looks pretty thoroughly depressed, when we rolled in it was empty, there were no cars to avoid, it was crazy. Tons of empty storefronts, it was just weird. The first round of summer classes at Youngstown State just ended as well, so campus was deserted as well. But I am sooo psyched to be in a new state; ohio's progress.

So riding into Youngstown was yesterday. Today was working on a build site in Youngstown, I was so glad to give my legs a day off. We were doing last stage stuff, putting on trim, painting, caulking, putting cement on the outside to cover the insulation, etc. Pretty neat to see how much got done in the one day we worked on it. Shoutout to Youngstown CVS for donating me propel packets.

The day before yesterday was a really fun ride day, Warren to Franklin, PA. Rode with Vidya and Amy the whole day and had some fun conversations. Also a lot of riding on bike paths, a bit of not so gentle ups and downs but with the exception of one 12% grade uphill section, it was pretty fun. From Titusville to the bike path into Franklin, it was all a very sad former 'birthplace of the american oil industry', that evidently has not changed much, except that all of the industry is gone. All of the old derricks are still there...

Shoutout to Karns Produce for donating ten nectarines, they were delicious! And especially to Celtic Cafe in Franklin, where we watched the devasting Us-Ghana world cup game (immediately after the ride in full gear), because they gave us all rocking tshirts! Yay for the past few days, they all have been great!!!

Also check out Youngstown ohio's "the vindicator", because they were interviewing at the build site today and took some pictures of me and Liz. Thanks!
